Fast-forward to 2017, and Greater Bendigo groups are organising a series of events to discuss ideas for the city’s future.
Topics include community connectivity, the environment, health, and the economy.
Organisers have encouraged prospective participants to save the date for the first Greater Bendigo Curriculum for Change event on 6.30pm on Thursday, April 27, in Bendigo.
Karen Corr, of Make A Change Australia, said the initiative was all-inclusive.
“Together we’ll celebrate who we are and explore what we want, how we might do it and connecting with what’s already being done,” she said.
Golden City Support Services; North Central Catchment Management Authority; La Trobe University; the Country Fire Authority; Bendigo Health, and the City of Greater Bendigo are among the organisations supporting the initiative.
The first phase of the program ends in October. Organisers have encouraged people to get involved during the next six months, “in any way that’s comfortable.”
