Holmes has now performed her 100% Kylie show more than 800 times in 16 countries over 15 years.
This year the show’s greatest hits tour marks Minogue’s 30th anniversary in the music industry.
It arrives in Bendigo on March 31 after visiting Horsham (March 24) and Ballarat (March 25).
Holmes, who is a Victorian girl at heart, is very familiar with Bendigo.
“We have family up here so I visit Bendigo quite a bit,” she said.
“This show is the biggest mix of crowds with kids aged 9 and 90-year-old grandmas and grandpas who love stage shows coming along.
“Kylie appeals to mums and the gay community as well. It’s remarkable how she transcends all those borders and that’s what we want to see in the audience.”
Holmes said the show is very interactive and encourages a lot of audience participation.
There is also the grandeur and awe-inspiring choreography and stage-show aspects that Kylie fans expect.
“This show has about 11 to 13 costume changes for me then there’s the troupe of dancers who have 13 costumes each,” Holmes said.
“There’s thousands of pieces that come on the on the road with us. The feather outfits are remarkable.”
After study musical theatre at university, Holmes was approached by a talent agent who specialises in tribute acts.
“I liked Kylie a lot. I wasn't obsessed but love her. The show went from strength to strength,” Holmes said.
“She is a phenomenal entertainer. She said once she knows she was born under a lucky star and knows she’s got something people adore.
“I loved it when she did the Aphrodite tour. The water jets, the incredible arrangements and costumes. It was a career highlight for her I’m sure.”
The Minogue family have also giving their tick of approval to Holmes’ show.
“Quite a few years ago, she sent a crew to film our show. She was lovely afterwards, tweeted at us and stayed in contact.
“I also got to sing a duet with Danni. To know (the Minogue family) have seen the show and said that this is best one – we pinched ourselves.
“It’s rare impersonators get the blessing of the artist they perform as. People like Elvis and Michael Jackson have passed away.”
Lucy Holmes performs as Kylie Minogue in 100% Kylie at The Capital theatre on March 31.
