Storm damage has forced the closure of the reception area of the Animal Care Centre in Pipers Lane.
The shelter animal care has not been impacted by the storm damage, but access to the main reception area will be restricted on Saturday due to repair work.
The centre can still operate on Saturday but will only do so by appointment to ensure safe working spaces.
“Strong rain caused part of the reception area roof to give way earlier in the week,” RSPCA Victoria CEO Dr Liz Walker said.
“Minor repairs undertaken during the week allowed the centre to continue operating safely for animals and people alike, despite the damage.
“However, major plaster and paint works are still needed and so this Saturday’s partial closure could not be avoided.”
