After entering the weekend’s play in a tie for second place just two shots off the lead, Mueck had rounds of 71 and 73 on Saturday and Sunday respectively to slip to seven-under par for the tournament.
He finished 12 shots behind winner Daniel Pearce.
Pearce looked like winning comfortably when he led by eight shots going into the final round, but Matthew Millar reeled him in to force a play-off.
Pearce won the title after defeating Millar in a three-hole play-off.
Bendigo’s Andrew Martin was tied for 41st at three-under par. Martin shot a fine 67 in the third round to be seven-under for the tournament, but a 74 in the final round cost him a top-20 placing.
Lucas Herbert missed the cut.
