Mutable Truths: Perspectives in Philippine Contemporary Art will highlight 10 of the contemporary Filipino artists who have taken part in the joint residency program between the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre (now LAI), Ateneo de Manila University and the Ateneo Art Gallery, Manila.
The exhibition explores the varied range of issues and concerns of Filipino artists through paintings, assemblage, installations and video works. Seven of the artists will be present for the exhibition launch and will then travel to the Castlemaine State Festival for the La Trobe Art Institute Visual Arts Symposium.
Mutable Truths runs from March 15 to April 30 at 121 View Street. The launch takes place on Wednesday, March 15, at 6pm.
