The six-year-old gelding was simply breathtaking in smashing his rivals in a benchmark 64 handicap over 1600m by 4.2 lengths.

But the overall honours on the day went the way of fellow jockey Stephen Baster.

The 13-time Group 1 winning jockey notched an early double on the eight-race card, starting with impressive maiden winner Garrard for Cranbourne-based Kiwi trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young in race two.

The two-year-old filly was a short-priced favourite ($1.45) after impressing in her two previous starts, a pair of seconds at Doomben and Moonee Valley.

Baster didn't need to wait long for his next winner, combining with trainers Leon and Tony Corstens in the next race to land the money with Fromparis Withlove in a 1300m fillies and mares maiden.

The three-year-old filly was second-up from an 18 week spell, going one better than her second at Werribee on February 13.
