When the Melbourne Vixens incorporated a stand-up paddle-boarding session into their Super Netball pre-season training, an animated figure watched on from the St Kilda foreshore, fretting like an anxious parent. Coach Simone McKinnis is used to calling words of encouragement and direction from the sidelines; her focus this day was on the two new team members out in Port Phillip Bay who could not swim.
