A Vinnies conference operated in Eaglehawk for several decades, but a lack of volunteers meant it closed in 2009.
But current conference president Mick Rodda said there remained significant need for the support services of the organisation, so it was re-formed and a new centre was established.
Mr Rodda said about 30 per cent of those who sought support from Vinnies in the Bendigo area came from Eaglehawk.
He said people could seek help with a range of issues.
“There’s nothing we don’t try and assist with,” Mr Rodda said.
The volunteer-run centre will service residents of the 3556 postcode and will open from 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1pm to 4pm on Fridays.
It is located at 82 High Street.
