The Northern District Football Umpires Association had been left without a competition to officiate in following the Golden Rivers Football League’s decision to support the formation of the AFL Central Rivers Umpires.
AFL Central Rivers Umpires will officiate the Central Murray and Golden Rivers competitions.
However, the NDFUA was keen to explore options to continue as a group, with a partnership now struck up with the BUA following discussions that began in December.
The new partnership will allow NDFUA members to be in line for Bendigo, Loddon Valley and North Central games.

“Any umpire who wants to be a part of the game should be afforded the opportunity and we are excited at the prospect of strengthening our numbers with these umpires,” BUA chairman Craig Findlay said this week.
“Over past seasons the BUA has had umpires from the North Central Umpiring Group and the Loddon Valley Umpiring Group join us, and the NDFUA will be another extension to this.”
