The 73-year-old businessman was spotted leaving a police station on Melbourne's Spencer Street on Thursday morning and told Channel Nine he wanted Grecko, 27, arrested if she ever returned to Australia.
"She's in breach of a number of criminal matters," Edelsten said while refusing to go into further detail.
Edelston said he was at the police station to show officers "some material" and to ensure they "arrest Gabi if she does come to Australia".
"She's in breach of an intervention order and a whole range of other offences."
"I'm not prepared to discuss anything further because that would be in breach of the law if I did."
But lawyer Peter Bartlett, a partner at MinterEllison, told Fairfax Media that intervention orders were only state wide and wouldbe unlikely to result in Grecko's arrest.
"I wouldn't have thought that it would automatically result in her being arrested if she ever lands," Mr Bartlett said.
"It might restrict her. They often say you can't go within a certain number of kilometres against someone but it doesn't prevent her from arriving in Australia."
Miami-born Grecko also denied she had any plans to see Edelsten and warned her ex-husband to stop harassing her.
"I am not coming to Australia to see this person," the glamour model said on Instagram on Thursday morning.
"Please stop the harassment and let me live a free and peaceful life, this is extremely disturbing and controlling."
"I just want to pursue my interests and they have nothing to do [with] my old marital union that did not work.
"Let me be in peace please, extremely disturbing this type of control!"
However, on Tuesday the model announced she would be in Australia later in the year for some undisclosed events.
"Burying myself in some creative projects for some reflection be back soon guys. I will be attending some Australian events this year, so excited!!"

Edelsten told Channel Nine Grecko would be "stupid" to return to Australia.
The eccentric businessman proposed to Grecko at the 2014 Melbourne Cup with their marriage lasting five months after their wedding in June 2015.
Grecko reportedly met Edelsten, 46 years her senior, in New York City, with the tabloid-loving couple debuting their relationship at the funeral of AFL legend Tommy Hafey in May 2014.
