Bendigo police are investigating the source of a loud noise, described by some as an ‘explosion’, near Lake Neangar on Saturday night.

Sergeant Tony Kekich said police received a number of calls from concerned residents in the Eaglehawk area in relation to the noise, from about 9.30pm – 9.45pm.
No injures were reported and police have yet to be advised of any property damage.
Bendigo Fire Brigade and Eaglehawk Fire Brigade were also called to investigate, following reports the noise was caused by a firework.
Police have yet to confirm the cause.
Sergeant Kekich asked that people with information call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
