The event will be marked with a traditional welcome on Tuesday, January 31 at 5.30pm, performed by the Central Victorian Lion Team and the Fu Wa Team.
The Chinese New Year will also be celebrated with a free Tai Chi session on Monday, January 30 from 6pm in the library gardens.
A session will also be held at Castlemaine Library on Friday, January 27 from 5pm.
Tai Chi is a martial art, widely practiced as a gentle form of exercise focused on balancing the mind and body.
“Last year’s outdoor Tai Chi session at Bendigo Library received such a great response from the public,” Goldfields Library Corporation acting programs and events co-ordinator Sue Mooney said.
“Although we had quite a large group, Raymond Lee created a wonderful atmosphere for the crowd.”
