A summer storm that swept the region last night has kept emergency service workers busy and prompted a warning for stone fruit farmers.
Bureau of Meteorology data shows Bendigo received almost 18 millimetres of rain between midnight and 6am on Friday.
Approximately 16 millimetres was recorded in Redesdale.
Bendigo SES volunteers attended seven jobs throughout the region, mostly for reports of fallen trees and water damage to ceilings.
SES spokeswoman Natalie Stanway said members worked alongside council staff to remove a large tree blocking half of Holdsworth Road.
She asked people to prepare their homes when they knew a thunderstorm was coming.
"Just look out for one another as well," Ms Stanway said.
The weather bureau is also warning stone fruit growers in and around Bendigo about the danger of brown rot, a disease that can affect their plants during periods of high humidity.
Last night’s rainfall, combined with warm temperatures today, could cause an outbreak of the scourge.
The mercury is predicted to hit 26 degrees today though all rain should cease after 11am.
