Racing at the Tom Flood Sports Centre will run in conjunction with the Bendigo Cycling Club's track racing.
The 1600m distance generally favours the middle to backmarkers, and with Michael Preece, Lonain Burnett and Jacob Nolan the backmarkers in the last race over 1000m finishing within three seconds of each other, we could expect them to be well up in the finish.
The danger to this trio will be the placegetters from the last race in Isaac Everret and Daniel Ryan.
Will McCaig, who has won over this distance, is an improving youngster and with a close fourth last week is also a chance.
In the points aggregate, Isaac Everret (39) has a three-point lead over Yvette Toohey (36), followed by last year's winner Tim Sullivan (35), Ross Douglas (34) and Ebony Whiley (33).
The next race will on February 2 over 1000 metres.
