Held at the All Seasons Bendigo last weekend, the tournament attracted more than 300 competitors from across Australia.
Thompson topped the 180 list with a brilliant tally of 13 maximum scores.
The Australian Asia Pacific representative was, however, not a part of the winning team.
That honour went to The Titans combination of Kerry MacDougall, Jason Murdoch, Aaron Browne, Rowan Dodd, Adam Gunn and Kevin McCarthy, ahead of The Shiners and The Driftwood.
The women's championship was won by the FIIK Inc team of Donna Barrington, Rose McWilliams, Kayleigh Johnstone, Renata Tonnerre-Downs and Karen Breneizeris.
The Giggling Gerties were runners-up, with Mixed Nuts third.
The men's highest finish was shared, with Adam Gunn and Michael Britten both hitting a sensational 160 peg.
Tracey Bechaz capped a fine comeback to teams competition with a women's highest peg of 130.
Thompson, who is the number one ranked male player in Victoria, will next compete in the Melton Dart Club Classic on January 28-29.
