The Australian Jackaroos fours team of Wilson, Barrie Lester, Brett Wilkie and the retiring Mark Casey was dominated by New Zealand in the final.
The Blackjacks bolted to a comfortable 23-4 victory in what was their first gold medal of the championships.
Wilson ends the tournament with both a gold and silver medal, helping Australia to its most successful campaign abroad at the world championships.
Wilson – who was representing Australia for the first time at senior level – and Wilkie won the men’s pairs final the previous Sunday.
While the Jackaroos missed out on gold in the men’s fours on Saturday, they won the women’s triples.
The Australian team of Carla Krizanic, Natasha Scott and Rebecca Van Asch was too strong for Wales, winning 17-6 in the final.
