Howe won the Best Character Photo award for his brilliant snap of North Bendigo coach Rob Bennett after the Bulldogs won the 2016 HDFNL grand final.
Titled “Winners are grinners”, the photo captured the elation on the face of the Bulldogs’ mentor after his side had won the flag.
It’s the second-straight year the Addy photographers have been honoured at the AFL Victoria Community awards after Glenn Daniels won the 2015 Best Character Photo for his “Agony and ecstasy” photograph from the 2015 HDFNL grand final.
Howe and Daniels had multiple photographs shortlisted for this year’s awards.
The Bendigo Addy was also a finalist for the Best Use of Online Media and sports reporter Kieran Iles was a finalist in the Best VWFL Feature Story category for his “In a league of their own” yarn on the Bendigo Thunder.
