From Saturday, the art that has shaped her life – and those of two generations of women before her – will be on display for all to appreciate.
The exhibition at Dudley House, in Bendigo’s arts precinct, features the works of three generations of artists: Sansom; her mother, Dr Penelope Collet; and Sansom’s grandmother, the late Pippa Leach, née Collet.
Art is one of the common threads binding the women’s stories.
All three are mothers, and educators.
“I wanted to celebrate the women who had an incredible impact on my life,” Sansom said.
The lived (and painted) experience including paintings, photographs, sculptures and drawings.
The exhibition opens at 10am on December 10 and runs until December 21.
A special event will be held at the gallery, on View Street, from 6pm – 8pm on Saturday.
Dr Collet is in Bendigo, from France, for the opening.
