The former Sandhurst left-arm leg-spinner followed up his two-wicket performance in Tuesday’s trial game in Wellington with an impressive 2-30 off four overs against the Firebirds.
Bowe was the Stars’ leading wicket-taker and had the second best economy rate behind Ben Hilfenhaus.
Wellington made 5-168 off its 20 overs, while the Stars responded with 2-173 off 17.1 overs.
Bowe took the wickets of New Zealand internationals Hamish Marshall and Luke Ronchi.
Marshall played 13 Tests and 66 one-day internationals for the Kiwis, while Ronchi played four one-day internationals for Australia before crossing to New Zealand where he has played four Tests and 73 one-dayers.
Bowe’s figures would have been even better had he not been hit for six in his final over.
Bowe is a supplementary list player with the Stars for the upcoming Big Bash League season.
Stars’ skipper David Hussey and English import Luke Wright did the damage with the bat.
Wright made a brilliant 112 not out off just 63 balls. He hit nine fours and eight sixes, with his final six bringing up the winning runs.
Wright became the first male player to score a century in a T20 game at the Basin Reserve.
Hussey chipped in with an unbeaten 36 off just 18 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.
