The Carlton women’s team will hold a training session at Bendigo’s Tom Flood Sports Centre from 6.30pm.
The Blues team has a strong Bendigo flavour to it, with the inaugural squad featuring four players selected from the Bendigo Thunder.
Bendigo Thunder’s Bella Ayre, Sarah Last, Jessica Kennedy and Hayley Trevean are all on the Blues’ list for 2017.
Ayre was taken at pick 51 and Last at No.94 in the Women’s Draft, while Kennedy and Trevean were both taken as free agents.
Carlton’s women’s team is being coached by Dale Keeping.
As well as the four players at Carlton, the Bendigo Thunder also has Emma Grant playing with Collingwood.
The inaugural AFL Women’s competition will kick-off in February involving Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle, Greater Western Sydney, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs
