At the Supercars Gala Awards on Monday night, the Bathurst 1000 was named as the fans’ choice for the best event this season.
Though missing out last year to the Gold Coast, the Great Race has had a stranglehold on the honour in recent years.
The 161-lap endurance epic also got the nod as the fans’ favourite in 2006, 2012 and 2013 and 2014.
This year’s Bathurst 1000 attracted the second biggest crowd in the history of the event, with 204,512 spectators visiting the Mount over four days.
The race was won by Will Davison and Jonathon Webb.
“This has been another memorable year for Supercars. As well as strong attendances across the country we have recorded double digit growth across our broadcast and digital platforms,” Supercars CEO James Warburton said.
