The clash between Strathfieldsaye and Strathdale was a run-fest.
The Suns posted 5-212 off 50 overs, with James Schischka (56 not out) top scoring.
The Jets replied with 1-227 thanks to Abe Sheahan (75 retired), Jed Rodda (67 not out) and Seamus Dwyer (55).
Kayle Thompson (61 not out), Tom Martin (52 not out) and Aden Shanahan (50 not out) led Bendigo (5-289) to a big win over Maiden Gully (107). Caydn Thompson picked up three wickets for the Goers.
Golden Square (6-189) proved too strong for Bendigo United (121).
Chris Cox made 50 and Caleb Flood took 3-23 for the Bulldogs. Connor Robertson made 53 for the Redbacks.
Hayden Trew took 3-4 and Kallum Schepers made 58 to spearhead Eaglehawk’s victory over Strathdale Suns.
After bowling the Suns out for 116, the Hawks made 8-137.
The nine-a-side under-14A division is making life easier for batsmen.
Strathfieldsaye (7-382) and Marong (6-312) both topped the 300-mark in their big wins.
The Jets’ Jake Gamble made 117 in their big win over Mandurang.
Marong had James Toomey (60 not out), Toby Naughton (52 not out) and Kaleb Crothers (50) make half-centuries.
Bendigo United’s Bradman Constable scored 96 not out as the Redbacks (249) thumped Sandhurst (44). Josh Leech also batted well to make 65.
The all-Strathdale clash was a thriller.
Strathdale-Maristians (6-206) held off Strathdale Suns (6-195) by 11 runs.
Patrick Murphy made a quickfire 70 not out for Strathdale, while the Suns’ best was Zeth Giri with 50 not out.
Mitchell Vaz made an unbeaten 51 to lead Golden Square (7-200) to a strong win over Kangaroo Flat (5-153).
Jasmine Nevins top scored for the Roos with 48 not out.
In the remaining under-14A match, Maiden Gully (6-231) outclassed White Hills (76).
In Sunday’s under-12A matches, Bendigo United Redbacks (2-168) defeated Kangaroo Flat (7-56), Bendigo United (6-90) held off Strathfieldsaye Gold (44), Strathdale-Maristians (7-83) proved too good for Eaglehawk (7-59), Huntly-North Epsom (2-122) had a big win over Strathfieldsaye Blue (5-46) and Bendigo (1-145) defeated Maiden Gully (2-77).
Meanwhile, three of the BDCA junior representative teams will be in action in the next round of the McPherson Shield this Sunday.
The under-13,15 and 17 teams tackle Shepparton in round three of the competition.
After having the bye in round one, the three Bendigo squads comfortably defeated Seymour in round two.
