Smyth pulled up sore from Carlton’s two Premier Cricket matches at the weekend and has withdrawn from the Bendigo match.
The Redbacks and Bendigo go into Tuesday night’s pool two game undefeated.
Reigning T20 premiers Strathdale must defeat Huntly-North Epsom to keep its title hopes alive.
In pool one, the major focus will be at Bendigo Door Centre Weeroona Oval where top of the table Sandhurst hosts Golden Square.
The Dragons have signed Englishman Tom Kohler-Cadmore as their marquee player.
Earlier this year, Kohler-Cadmore set a new record for the highest score in England’s NatWest T20 Blast competition when he smacked 127 off just 54 balls for the Worcestershire Rapids. Kohler-Cadmore is in Australia playing Premier Cricket in Sydney.
In the other pool one match, Kangaroo Flat will start favourite against Eaglehawk.
Tuesday night’s matches (5.15pm start) – Pool one: Kangaroo Flat v Eaglehawk, Sandhurst v Golden Square. Pool two: Bendigo United v Bendigo, Huntly-North Epsom v Strathdale-Maristians.
Meanwhile, the BDCA has announced that the washed out round three T20 matches have been rescheduled for next Tuesday, December 13.
December 13 draw – Pool one: Eaglehawk v Golden Square, White Hills v Kangaroo Flat. Pool two: Strathdale-Maristians v Bendigo United, Strathfieldsaye v Bendigo.
