Adam Holmes last night had his work acknowledged at the 2016 VicHealth awards.
Holmes was recognised for his outstanding journalism on health promotion issues, namely in the areas of raising awareness of racial discrimination; mental well-being (sport and homelessness) and euthanasia.
The awards celebrate work that supports healthier and happier communities.
Mark Kearney has been recognised with the Victorian AIDS Council 2016 media award.
Kearney started as a journalist with the Bendigo Advertiser at the time VAC launched the new VACountry program across the Loddon Mallee region.
Kearney was acknowledged for his engagement with VACountry staff and volunteers, and his positive and meticulous coverage of HIV and LGBTI issues.
His efforts helped increase the awareness and visibility of the LGBTI community.
