Fresh off a 58-shot belting from Bendigo East last week – its first loss of the season – Inglewood must regroup ahead of Saturday’s away clash against Bendigo.
And the Woods have to do it without two of their regular skippers in Daryl Rowley and Rob Day, who are both unavailable.
Bendigo displaced Inglewood at the top of the ladder last week and is in ominous form, having defeated Kangaroo Flat (31) and Eaglehawk (49) by a combined 80 shots in its past two games.
Inglewood and Bendigo are two, along with Bendigo East, of what’s a log jam at the top of the ladder, with just three points separating first to third.
• South Bendigo will be hoping coach Brad Holland’s intimate knowledge of his former club Bendigo East will be an asset when it hosts the reigning premiers.
South has won its past two games to close to within four points of the top four, but would need everything to go right if it’s to cause a boilover.
• Eaglehawk will chase two wins in a row as it strives to build some much-needed momentum when it plays away to Golden Square.
Golden Square is the only team yet to win a game, with its five-game losing streak its worst since rejoining division one in the 2006-07 season.
• Kangaroo Flat hosts Castlemaine. The Flat has won its past six against the Maine by an average of 22 shots, but will be underdogs in this clash at home.
Luke West predictions – Bendigo by 35, Eaglehawk by 13, Castlemaine by 3, Bendigo East by 10.
