Dietrick is in her first season with Bendigo and so far, likes what she sees – on and off the court.
“It’s awesome being here in Bendigo; the team is fantastic, everyone is a really hard worker and good person,” Dietrick said this week.
“There’s no egos or drama, so that makes the basketball a lot more fun and enjoyable.
“I think we still have our best basketball ahead of us, which is exciting. We’re just focused on getting through this stretch until Christmas, and then we’ll re-focus.”

- Blake Dietrick
Dietrick – a 180cm point guard with WNBA experience with the Seattle Storm – played her best game for Bendigo so far this season last Sunday when she earned the Spirit’s MVP award in their 69-51 win over Adelaide.
The 23-year-old – also a star lacrosse player – scored a season-high 14 points to go with three rebounds and two assists as the Spirit improved to 8-4 at the halfway mark.
“I haven’t played triangle offence before, and it’s a different style of play out here, so getting used to that has taken a bit of time,” Dietrick said.
“But I’m feeling like I’ve got my feet under me now.”
