Thirty-two people were detected driving under the influence of an illegal drug during a police operation at the Earthcore music festival last weekend.
It marks rise of almost 300 per cent in the number of drug driving offences detected at the event since last year.
The dance music weekend, held at Pyalong between November 24 and 28, also saw 28 people caught in possession of marijuana.
The two-day police operation on Thursday and Friday, which used sniffer dogs in and outside the festival venue, even snared two people for possession of a weapon.
Despite being concerned by the presence of drugs, a police spokesperson said their organisation was pleased with the general behaviour of the crowd.
The event was also marred by the death of one festival-goer on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the 43-year-old Bayswater woman’s death was not suspicious and the cause would be determined by a coroner.
