Bendigo BMX Club riders had a successful weekend at the 2016 BMX Victoria State Champships held in Shepparton.

Bendigo riders came home with 11 state plates, including one Victorian title which was claimed by Marcus Walker in the 11 boys class.

Walker has worked hard on his riding and deserved his state title victory.

Other state plate holders included Rhian Hobbs 2V, Sammy O’Grady and Matthew White 4V, Kailen O’Grady, Marcus Walker and Seth Thompson 5V, Adam Aherne and Jed Seipolt 6V.

Victoria is one of the few states that runs an open state championships, so the event attracted strong fields of riders from all over Australia.

The conditions were also very challenging for the riders because of the heat.

Bendigo BMX Club spokesperson Andrea O’Grady said overall the club was very happy with the results at the state championships.
