A car was allegedly seen driving erratically in the Epsom area about 5am on November 20 before being dumped and set alight.
Police say the same driver then stole a utility from Averys Road, Eaglehawk and drove it to an Epsom shopping centre where he allegedly stole a quantity of groceries.
Detectives have charged a 30-year-old man with theft of a motor vehicle, arson, theft, theft from motor vehicle, careless driving, dangerous driving, breach of bail conditions and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
The Epsom man has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on December 16.
