Night greyhound racing set for Lord’s Raceway

Greyhound racing at Lord's Raceway begins at 6.52pm on Friday.

Greyhound racing at Lord's Raceway begins at 6.52pm on Friday.

A RARE night meeting will be staged by the Bendigo greyhound club on Friday on the eve of the annual Ready 2 Race auction.

The powerful Brett Bravo kennel will again play a strong hand in the night’s events.

The first of the Bravo runners comes up in race two in Cactus Jack.

A talented sprinter, Cactus Jack has performed well in much tougher company than he faces on Friday night, including being runner-up in the Group 2 Warrnambool Classic in May.

Despite drawing box five Cactus Jack will only need luck in running to win.

Bravo will next rug up Ouch, who will exit box one in race seven.

From the inside draw Ouch should hold a forward position early and will be searching for some overdue luck to return to the winner’s list.

And Papa Chippy in the ninth event is another Bravo runner likely to be prominent in betting.

Racing kicks off at 6.52pm, with the Ready 2 Race auctions on Saturday from noon.
