THE police case against a North Bendigo woman charged in relation to the alleged hit-and-run death of a woman in Huntly could be resolved by the end of the year, a court has been told.
Taylah Hocking, 19, appeared at a committal hearing the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, and will remain on bail with the same conditions until her next hearing on December 7.
The court was told the matter was likely to resolve on that date.
Hocking is facing three charges, including failing to stop after an accident in which a person was killed, after she allegedly struck 45-year-old Tracey-Lee Kemp with her car on August 14.
The incident occurred on the Midland Highway in Huntly in the early hours of the morning, after Hocking and Ms Kemp had both attended a birthday party nearby.
Hocking was also charged with driving in a manner dangerous and failing to render assistance.
She was supported in the Bendigo court by family and friends.
