Darcy Spicer, Kobe Gill and Joe Brown will all run the 6km event alongside Mr Behrens.
Mr Behrens said he took the boys out on Friday to walk the route around the CBD course.
“We walked the whole track and talked about how we are going to run it,” he said.
“One of the big hills is up Barnard Street and that will be toughest bit of course.
“Then we went and got our numbers and are all set to go.”
Darcy, Kobe and Joe have been training for Sunday’s event at lunchtime every Tuesday and Thursday.
“We run two days a week and have sometimes been heading out of school and running 5km,” Darcy said.
“We are excited to get out there and start doing the run (on Sunday).”
Mr Behrens said the team originally had four team members but one had to pull out.
“We were planning on me doing a half marathon and boys running with me as a relay team but one lad had to drop out. So we are running the 6km,” he said.
“We did this fun run about five years ago with a few students.
“I heard about it again and had been running a boot camp type activity with students.
“They seemed to be interested in doing and liked the idea of a team event.”
The Bendigo Bank Fun Run starts in Pall Mall this year and will go up Bridge and Water streets before going along Barnard Street and Coming down View Street.
After a loop through Hargreaves Mall, the 5km event finishes in Pall Mall near where the run started.
Runners will start from 6.45am when the half marathon group sets off before the 15km group at 7.15am, the 10km waves at 7.30am and the 5km waves at 9.30am.
The team relay event will commence the same time as the half marathon event.
Presentations will begin from 9.45am.
