Hosted by the Bendigo Volleyball Association, the tournament has attracted 35 entries, with teams spread across six divisions.
Preliminary round matches of the tournament will commence at 8am on Saturday and run through until 9.30pm on Saturday night.
The final round of matches are scheduled to be played on Sunday morning, with tournament finals to start at 12.40pm on Sunday and conclude with the 3pm men’s honours division final.
Local sides competing in the weekend’s tournament include Bendigo Dragons, Golden Square, Kanyana and the Bendigo Bank Academy of Sport, who have once again entered junior athletes in both men’s and women’s divisions to compete for the prized Bendigo Pottery Trophies.
“The tournament is highly regarded within the volleyball community for its smooth operation and quality matches,’’ BVA president John Sheen said.
“It gives local players the opportunity to compete against players from all over the state.”
The Bendigo Volleyball Association is proud to continue its long running association with the Bendigo Pottery, who provide trophies for the tournament, which the event has become known for, and Bendigo Motor Wreckers.
All matches will take place at the Bendigo Stadium. Entry is free and spectators are invited to come along and support the local sides.
