Dellavedova scored 11 points, dished out three assists and had three rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Bucks to victory against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornets controlled the game from the outset and cruised to a 107-96 win at the BMO Harris Bradley Centre in Milwaukee.
Dellavedova scored the Bucks first points of the new season via a trademark drive to the basket. A short time later he nailed his first three-point attempt in his new colours.
After that the Bucks fans didn’t have a lot to cheer about as the Hornets’ depth proved too much for the home side.
Bucks’ star Giannis AntetoKounmpo scored a game-high 31 points, while the Hornets had five players score in double-figures.
The Bucks’ next game is against Brooklyn at 11am on Sunday (AEDT).
