The doors will open at 7.30pm on Friday as the Myers Street cathedral hosts its 23rd annual art show, featuring 138 items from 38 local artists.
Show co-ordinator Ian Smith said the exhibition will be officially opened by Archdeacon Greg Harris at 8pm and Julie Patey, senior lecturer in creative arts at Bendigo TAFE, will announce the winners.
First prize in the open art competition is $500, while the runner-up receives $100.
All entries are available to buy, with prices ranging from $45 to $5000.
Mr Smith said the church received a small commission from each work sold, but the rest went directly to the artist.
“The show is about letting people see works by local artists so they realise how talented they are in the Bendigo area,” he said.
Entry is $10 on Friday night, with wine and nibbles provided, and just $2 on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday 12pm to 4pm.
