The vision paper is the first step in the development of a new master plan for the Hanging Rock precinct by the state government and Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
The paper says the most prominent issues relate to human impact and “retaining the intrinsic values of Hanging Rock”.
It identifies several challenges regarding management of the precinct, including visitor experience and funding and resourcing, but also highlights opportunities arising from these.
For more information on the master plan or giving feedback, visit the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website.
Submissions close October 31.
