Police are currently on scene at a number of businesses in the Craig Street industrial area.
EARLIER: Police are appealing for information following a string of burglaries at the weekend, expressing concern about the increased prevalence of the crime in recent weeks.
In the first incident, unknown offenders broke into a business on Taylor Street in Epsom and stole two utility vehicles between 1am and 2am on Sunday.
Detective senior constable Jason Smith of the Bendigo crime investigation unit said while police were yet to determine the value of the vehicles it would likely be in the thousands of dollars.
Then at 4am, thieves forced their way into a shed at the Neangar Park Golf Club on Averys Road, Eaglehawk and stole between $1000 and $2000 worth of power tools.
Not long after that second theft, burglars also broke into a business in Beischer Street, East Bendigo, Senior Constable Smith said.
“Unknown offenders entered there at approximately 4.50am and ransacked the premises and they’ve stolen a small amount of cash,” he said.
The thefts came on the back of a number of burglaries committed last week, including one in which $18,000 worth of tools were stolen from a business in Quarry Hill, and Senior Constable Smith called on members of the public who had any information to contact police.
“It has been something that’s more prevalent than usual which is concerning to us,” he said.
“Certainly if anyone’s got any information in relation to these or any of the other burglaries contact Crime Stoppers or us.”
The stolen utes are described as a white 2009 model Ford Falcon, registration XKM-563, and a white 2006 model Ford XR6, registration UGO-086.
