The school held its first Colour Walk, a combination of its biennial fundraising walkathon and the colour runs that have become popular in recent years, in which participants have coloured powder thrown over them.
The school was raising money to buy equipment to give kids the opportunity to do their own radio broadcasts.
Physical education teacher Gill Davey said the students had already raised about $3100 ahead of the final tally, enough to not only buy audio and recording equipment, but also purchase a karaoke machine for music classes.
“We’ve got a great community spirit at Epsom,” Mrs Davey said.
The grade that raised the most money, grade 5/6, was also given the privilege of pelting select teachers, including Mrs Davey and principal Lyn Coulter, with the vibrant coloured powder.
Parents, grandparents and other members of the wider school community also joined students on the walk.
