Bendigo fashionistas are being urged to make a statement and support children who are deaf by donning their loudest, brightest and most colorful shirts.

It’s all part of this Friday’s Loud Shirt Day, when Australian Hearing’s Bendigo branch plans to raise funds at its Queen Street offices.
Community hearing adviser Natalie Martin said it would be the first year the local branch had reached out to the community as part of its annual fundraising drive.
Friday would see a sausage sizzle, show bags and a raffle to raise money for groups such as not-for-profit Taralye, an oral language centre for deaf children.
People could also donate for treatment options like speech therapy sessions, as well as videotherapy sessions for those who would otherwise have to travel long distances for specialists.
Members of the public would also be able to board the Australian Hearing bus, speak to specialists and get free hearing checks.
The event takes place on Friday from 11:30am to 2pm outside Australian Hearing’s offices at 62 Queen Street Bendigo.
