CAPTAIN: Mitch Winter-Irving
LAST SEASON: 4th – 7-6-1.
ARRIVALS: David Blume, Tom Schultz, Linc Jacobs, Jack Rogers
DEPARTURES: Travis Colley, Will Schofield, Joel Logan, Sam Farmer
SUMMARY: The Demons stunned plenty by storming into the semi-finals last summer.
A late season win over Strathdale-Maristians showed the Demons have the talent to regularly finish in the top half of the competition.
The big question is can they produce their best cricket on a regular basis.
Skipper Mitch Winter-Irving and leading batsman Gavin Bowles are genuine stars of the competition, while Rhys Irwin has the potential to take his game to that level.
You know what you’re going to get from that trio.
White Hills’ hopes this season will largely rest on the performances of their next level – Sam Stagg, Ryan Grundy, Adrian Holland, Ollie Geary, Myles Wade and Jayden Sheean.
If that group performs consistently then the Demons, despite having a tough draw, can push for another finals berth.
How the Demons cope with the loss of opening bowler Travis Colley will play a major role in their season as well.
Colley’s departure, and the absence of young quick Will Schofield, puts extra pressure on Irwin, Winter-Irving and Wade to bowl well consistently.
