Central Victorians will have the opportunity to join in a walk around Lake Weeroona on Sunday.
Step Up! for Down Syndrome registrations start at 9:30am, ahead of the 10.30am walk.
Free entertainment, face painting, activities, raffles and prizes will be available on the day.
Step Up! events last year raised more than $100,000 for Down Syndrome Victoria.
“This year we’re hoping to raise more than $100,000, which would go a long way towards supporting the families of individuals with Down syndrome,” said DSV executive officer Sue O’Riley.
“As the statewide peak body, DSV seeks to provide services for people with Down syndrome and their families through all facets of life.”
More than 3000 people living in Victoria have Down syndrome, and between 50 and 70 Victorian babies are born with the genetic condition each year.
