Two world-renowned Australian designers will share their insights into fashion, art and friendship at an event in Bendigo.
In Conversation with Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson runs from 2pm to 4pm at the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre at View Street on Sunday, October 23.
City of Greater Bendigo Major Events officer Raph Beh expected the designers would reminisce on the days of their iconic Flamingo Park Frock Salon in the 1970s.
“Kee and Jackson’s iconic textile and artistic works are iconic and well known and are broadly collected by museums and art galleries,” Mr Beh said.
“Their distinctive bold creations, particularly in silk and wool are inspired by Australian opals, flora and fauna and indigenous culture and their work continues to inspire a new generation of fashion designers and artists to this day.”
The event complements the Flamingo Park and Beyond exhibition on show at the Bendigo Visitor Centre’s Living Art Space.
The exhibition features Kee and Jackson’s fashion and textile designs from the ’70s and ’80s, as well as some of their more recent work.
In Conversation tickets are $20 and are available online or by phoning 1800 813 153.
