Chasing Marist-Sion Warragul’s score of 130, CCB was in trouble when it slumped to 3-20 off seven overs in reply.
However, fighting knocks from Riley Treloar and Xavier Ryan helped lift CCB to a five-wicket win.
Ryan finished 32 n.o. off 34, while Treloar scored 38 off 42.
The victory with eight balls to spare had a memorable ending when Mitch Cheeseman blasted a six for the winning runs as CCB answered with 5-131.
Earlier in the day in their semi-final clash, CCB defeated Catholic College Wodonga by four wickets, making 6-143 in reply to 7-142.
“In both the semi and grand final we were under the pump chasing, but the boys responded and adapted well to the situation,” CCB coach Nathan Fitzpatrick said.
“It was a fantastic effort by the boys and obviously a proud moment for the school being the state champions, which is the first time we have won this title.”
