CAPTAIN: Elliott Massina.
LAST SEASON: 10th – 1-11-1.
ARRIVALS: James Dempsey, Daniel Cruikshank, Peter Moore, Chris Smith, Jarrod Hodoras.
DEPARTURES: Ash Gray.
SUMMARY: After struggling to win just one game last season – against Bendigo in the final round – the Power should have more depth, particularly in their batting.
The Power has appointed a new captain in Elliott Massina, who takes over from Michael Hanson.
The club has added five recruits, with three of those – Daniel Cruikshank, Chris Smith and James Dempsey – who will add strength to the batting.
They will add to a batting line-up that features the experience of the McRae brothers – Linc and Brodie – Hanson and Brett Elvey.
Also joining the Power is Jarrod Hodoras, who is a left-arm bowling all-rounder, plus Peter Moore, who will add some spice to the bowling attack alongside his brother Cameron Moore.
“We think we’re going to be a hell of a lot more competitive than we were last season,” Massina said.
The only departure is top-order batsman Ash Gray, while in what’s a major positive for the future of the club going forward, the Power will return an under-18 team to the field.
“Apart from Ash we’ve been able to hold onto everyone else, and bringing in a some new recruits, that’s a good sign heading into the season,” Massina said.
