The open grade team coached by Tamara Gilchrist was the region's best performed and only narrowly missed a spot in the final.
North Central was beaten 21-18 by Jika in their semi-final encounter at the Werribee Indoor Sports and Recreation Centre.
Jika went on to defeat North East 18-12 in the final.
North Central won four and drew one of its seven qualifying round matches.
The team captained by Golden Square's Allira Hammond won its opening match against Dandenong Valley 23-8, but fell to Jika 4-1 in game two.
A 15-12 win over Barwon was followed by a 12-all draw with Elmer, 24-8 win over Sunraysia, 19-1 win over Western and 9-11 loss to North East.
The team comprised Hammond, Golden Square teammates Lucy Morcom, Ashley and Abbey Ryan, Kangaroo Flat's Chelsea Sartori, Zoe Davies and Millie Wicks, North Bendigo's Bec Smith and Bridgette McDougall and Rochester's Ashley Bradley.
Meanwhile, North Central's 17-and-under team was unable to replicate its 2016 championship win and bowed out before the the semi-finals.
The team started confidently with a 14-10 win over Barwon, but drew 12-all with Gippsland.
It was the first of three draws that cruelled their finals chances.
A 16-9 loss to Henderson was followed by a 14-12 win over Two Bays, a 9-all draw with Dandenong Valley, 14-8 loss to Central Highlands, 16-8 win over Elmer, 16-12 win against Latrobe Vallley, 10-13 loss to Western, 5-15 loss to North East, 19-8 win over Goulburn, 18-all draw with Sunraysia, 14-12 victory over East Gippsland, 9-11 defeat to Wimmera-Mallee, 9-16 loss to Chisholm and 10-18 loss to eventual champions Jika.
The squad included Meg Williams (captain), Livi Cautley, Abbey Dingwall, Holly Doricic, Emily Gray, Eve Gregor, Deanah Kent, Tia Webb, Danielle Markwell and Annie Spear.
The 15-and-under team also failed to reach the finals after it strung together some mixed results.
They included a 13-10 win over Wimmera-Malle and 12-11 victory over East Gippsland to start their campaign.
A 9-all draw with Two Bays followed ahead of a 13-9 win over Gippsland and an 11-14 loss to Elmer.
Further results included a 9-13 loss to Chisholm, 7-13 defeat to Jika, 12-13 loss to Barwon, 19-5 win over Central Highlands, 17-all draw with eventual champions Henderson, 17-7 victory over Latrobe Valley. 12-6 win over Goulburn, 15-4 win over Sunraysia, 15-7 triumph over Western, and 9-11 loss to Dandenong Valley.
The squad was jointly captained by Ruby Barkmeyer and Bridget Byrne and included Isabella Fitzsimmons, Bronte Gundry, Bree Heiden, Claudia Mawson, Danielle O'Toole, Maya Pearce, Meg Rohde and Sophie Shoebridge.
Golden City's reserve team finished best of the association's two access all abilities team and qualified for the semi-finals.
