A Language of the Vanishing is a beautifully unsettling series by Claudia Terstappen. Terstappen asks the viewer to consider their relationship with the environment as they are drawn into images before being confronted with the realisation they are looking at roadkill.
In God’s Eye showcases the work La Trobe University visual art and design students as they explore the shifting boundaries between our public and private selves, using a variety of media to investigate what it means to live in the digital age. It may be almost 70 years since George Orwell published his novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, yet his predictions of a world under constant surveillance may be more pertinent than ever.
Senior lecturer Dr Vincent Alessi will present the opening remarks.
