The girls advanced to the top eight and play a quarter final at 6pm tonight against Melbourne Tigers.
EARLIER: Bendigo Braves under-14 girls team is closing in on a quarter finals berth at the Australian Club Championships after a convincing win in Wednesday’s game against South Adelaide Panthers.
A 79-45 victory was the young Braves fourth straight win at the tournament in Newcastle and Maitland.
After leading their pool in the first stage of the event, the competition’s second phase sees the top 12 teams split into four pools of three with the top two teams from each progression to the quarter finals.
A fantastic team performance against the Panthers was highlighted by a brilliant individual performance from Piper Dunlop, who scored 30 points.
Dunlop now has 89 points for the competition at an average of 22.25 points per game.
The Braves take on Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Thursday with victory assuring them a place in the quarter finals.
