Vic Country (8-228) defeated South Australia (8-227) with three balls to spare thanks largely to Ryan.
After top-scoring with 72 on day one, Ryan remained number eight in the batting order and came to the crease in the 46th over with his side needing eight runs per over to win.
Ryan mixed hard-htting with sensible batting to compile 25 not out off 15 balls, including two fours and one six.
Earlier in the day, Ryan’s Northern Rivers team-mates Andrew Poppa (37) and Todd Murphy (35) batted well. Ryan also did his job with the ball. He took 1-33 off eight overs with his leg-spinners.
Meanwhile, Zane Keighran was rested from the Cricket Australia XI for its round two clash with Tasmania.
The game finished in a thrilling tie after the CA XI lost its final wicket while attempting the winning run.
