In his first season with the Blues after crossing from the Orbost Snowy Rovers, Ashby polled 39 votes to finish seven votes clear of runner-up Craig Crichton.
In netball, Jana Munzel won the inaugural Helen Ward Medal for A-Grade best and fairest.
Munzel polled 47 votes, while fellow defender Bree Forrester was runner-up with 42 votes.
Meanhiwle, the club is seeking applications for senior football coach for 2017 following the resignation of Jon Starr, who had coached the Blues for two years.
Applications are also open for senior netball coaching positions.
