The under-18s moved off the bottom of the NPL ladder when they defeated Hume City 2-1 and grabbed their second win of the season.
Both of Bendigo City FC’s goals were scored by Donte Thomas, who is best known a goalkeeper in the under-20 and senior teams.
The under-16s were also the underdogs when they took on the fifth-placed Hume City.
A hat-trick from Luke Burns set up Bendigo City’s stunning 5-1 victory. Burns now has 21 goals for the season.
It was Bendigo’s 13th win from 26 games this season and the team is in ninth place with one round remaining.
In other games last Saturday, the under-15s lost 2-0, the under-14s went down 9-0, the under-13s were defeated 8-0 and the under-12s suffered a 4-0 loss.
The final round of the NPL will be played this Sunday, with Bendigo City away to Sunshine George Cross.
